Aleksandra Kanjuo Mrčela

Dr Aleksandra Kanjuo Mrčela is a Professor of Economic Sociology and Sociology of Work and the Head of the Research Centre for Organisations and Human Resources at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (https://www.fdv.uni-lj.si/en/research/research-centres/department-of-sociology/centre-for-organisational-and-human-resources-research).  Her teaching, research and consultancy activities focus on gender and the economy, the digital economy, the post-socialist transition and economic democracy. She has been involved in a number of Slovenian and international research projects and networks. From 2007 to 2011, she was Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana. From 2015 to 2021, she was Head of the Doctoral School at the University of Ljubljana. From 2016 she was a member and from 2022 to 2025 Chair of the Steering Committee of the European University Association's Council of Doctoral Education (EUA CDE). Since 2020, she has been an external member of the Development Council of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. She is a co-founder and chair of the Expert Committee of the Institute for Economic Democracy.
