Igor Feketija

Igor Feketija was born in 1978 in Celje where he attended elementary and high school. He graduated in economics, and has 18 years of experience teaching macroeconomics at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. For 10 years, he worked at and managed a family translation business. He regularly contributes commentary and analyses of macroeconomic developments for Slovenian media.

Igor Feketija was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (MDDSZ) in February 2023. He is a graduate economist who taught macroeconomics at the University of Ljubljana for 18 years, and worked in and managed a family business for 10 years. He said at the time of his appointment "Work is the foundation of prosperity and civilisation. I am pleased to join efforts to ensure that it is dignified, effective and properly rewarded".
