Sandra Benčić

Sandra Benčić is a Croatian politician and legal expert who graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. She demonstrated an early interest in human rights during her university education and subsequently pursued a career in civil society organizations. Benčić is one of the founders and coordinators of the green - left political party Možemo!. Since the 2020 national parliamentary elections, she has been serving as the president of the Možemo! parliamentary group and acted as Chair of the Environment and Nature Conservation Committee in the Croatian Parliament. Možemo! achieved further success in local elections, winning the mayoral seat and a strong majority in Zagreb’s City Assembly in 2021 and reaffirming its position in 2025. In the 2024 parliamentary election, Sandra was the designated candidate for the office of Prime Minister on behalf of Možemo! and the party has doubled their seats in the Parliament. Her main focus of work concernes environmental protection, transparency and fair economic policies.
