Simon Maljevac
Minister of Solidarity-Based Future
Simon Maljevac, born on February 26, 1981, is a Slovenian politician and sociologist. He graduated in 2012 from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana. Before becoming a minister, he led the non-governmental organization Legebitra (2007–2017), where he worked on national and international projects supporting the LGBTQ+ community. He later served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (2022–2023). Since January 27, 2023, he has been the Minister for a Solidary Future.
As minister, Simon Maljevac is responsible for long-term care, housing policy, social and intergenerational solidarity, and models of economic democracy. His work focuses on building a fairer and more inclusive society, promoting equal opportunities, and strengthening community well-being through sustainable and compassionate social policies.
